I grew up in both Tuktoyaktuk and Inuvik, NT. My mom and her parents (my nanuk and daduk) raised me quite traditionally with fishing, trapping, hunting, and traveling throughout the coast of the Arctic Ocean Coast.

I graduated high school in Inuvik, and from Northland College in Northern Wisconsin with a major in Outdoor Education and a minor in Native American Studies. I have also finished my first year of my master’s getting a master’s certificate in Environmental Education.

Before moving back home in 2018 I instructed backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater canoeing, and wilderness first-aid courses for NOLS over 5-6 years.

Throughout my life, I have always shared my Inuvialuit culture. Since moving home, I have been a part of sharing northern cultures in various capacities. Most recently, I was the culture worker for East 3 Schools for just over a year.
